Wondering if anyone has ever attended the Rhine in Flames fireworks in Koblenz, without staying in Koblenz that night? How was it for leaving afterwards (car or train)? Even if it was logistically painful to get home afterwards, was it worth it?
Our accommodation over the August 10 fireworks is in Cochem...we didn't book there for the event, but found out about the event while we happen to be there for a week. We have a car, and the website talks about a park and ride option during the festival. Also would be willing to take a train. The logistics of everyone trying to leave at the end of the fireworks though, whether we drive or take a train sounds daunting. It looks like it would be a great event, but maybe not worth getting home that late??
