Kd river cruise on the Rhine

We are planning to take Kd river cruise on the Bacharach to Koblenz section of the Rhine River (3 hour trip). We have read that there is no luggage storage on the boats and that you may only take hand luggage aboard. Any clarification on this? We did not know how crowded the boats are and if luggage (one suitcase and one backpack each) would be very inconvenient to maneuver if even allowed. Thanks for input.

Hmm. What's the plan before and after? That cruise fare is €38 each - and you are taking in a lot of river scenery that isn't so special while missing out on some of the best. You would probably be better off spending your time and money on the cruise from Bingen to St. Goar. Tickets to St. Goar (€20 but you get €4 off if you arrive in Bingen by train.) Bingen-St. Goar is definitely the most dramatic. Also, if you float all the way to Koblenz, you'll end up a long walk from the Koblenz train station (if that's where you're headed) so all in all that's probably a weak plan.

Cruise segment of greatest interest:

One suitcase AND one backpack each may violate the terms of passage. This is a sightseeing cruise - not transportation, really - so there is probably a good way for you guys to get in a good cruise without your bags - which is more fun anyway. Re-post with more details if you want tips for working that out.
