KD dock in Koblenz

Are you aware that the most scenic section of the Rhine, by far, is Bingen to Boppard? If you want to spend more time on the boat, that's fine. But look closely at the KD timetable. We took the train from Boppard to the stop after Koblenz. But we wanted to see Boppard anyway.

The Wehr-whatever is on the north side of the Mosel more or less next to the lock at the first dam on the river. Looks like it would be about a one mile walk from the KD dock. There is also a small train station nearby, Koblenz Luetzel.

In 2004, I walked from Deutsches Eck, just downriver from the KD dock, to the Koblenz Hbf. It was not a terribly long or strenuous walk, rather pleasant on a Sunday morning, but it does take some time. There are buses.

Good choice. You won't be disappointed in seeing the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung (Museum). The statue on Deutsches Eck (Kaiser Wilhelmsdenknmal, ) one of several in Germany if you decide to go see it; it's much more modest than the original which was damaged in 1945.
