Hi everybody, just in case there is any interest in this, tonight on Amazing Race it looks like they're going to be racing in Munich. I will be watching with HUGE interest since it's one of the stops on my planned trip.
That's all!! :)

I'll tell my wife, the center of cultural and intellectual activity of our family, she usually watches it. I don't watch fake, choreographed television programs so I'll read.
I usually don't watch shows like that either, but it would be fun to watch for a look at Munich. Ive been thinking of going there. Thanks for the tip.
I think The Amazing Race is one of the reasons I wanted to experience Europe.....and preferably by not having to carry beer steins to patrons, but by drinking it myself!
Me too! They did a Bavaria segment a few years ago and that was what made me want to travel there.
I quite enjoyed watching this episode as Munich is one of my favourite places. It looks like they started in Marienplatz at a shop that sells Lederhosen and Dirndl outfits. The part where one team member had to go part up a ladder and sing a German song to their partner was fun to watch.
Something I found interesting is that the team that was eliminated ended up in last place because they couldn't drive a manual transmission and abandoned their car (which was needed for that part of the race). They couldn't overcome the two hour penalty for not finishing the task.
Thanks previous post, but it hasn't ended on the West Coast. You should have done spoiler alert.
My wife likes this show, but I'm sorry, I just can't handle it. The frenetic quick cuts make it frustrating to try to get a sense of place. The local communities, the people and their culture are mere props for a bunch of vapid, self-absorbed young people. Embarrassing. Guess that makes me an old fuddy-duddy, but there it is.
Don't rent a car if you can't shift using a clutch.
Wonder if the producers take care of the speed camera and no auto zone automatic tickets.
REPORT. My wife decided to watch Joseph Resendo the first half hour so she only saw the Munich part. She wasn't overly impressed, young people running around trying to carry beer.
yosemite,
Sorry about that. I also live on the west coast, but had already seen all of the show. In future I'll add a spoiler alert.
I love "The Amazing Race" and look forward to each season. Does anyone know if the song they sang last night was modern German, older German, or some kind of dialect?
I believe it was an old German folk song, but I don't know what the name of the song is. One Blogger had less-than-complimentary things to say about this episode.....

I agree with him that they're getting more blatant in pushing products for their sponsors. Some of that is understandable, but it's been getting worse with each new season, and is starting to become annoying.
