Itinerary advice for 8 day trip

Hello, I would appreciate some itinerary suggestions for my last day/night before flying out of Frankfurt. It’s my first trip to Germany! I’m not that interested in seeing Frankfurt itself this trip as it’s quite short and I prefer more historical areas. I am taking trains. June 2024

This is my trip plan so far:
Arrive in Frankfurt noon, use rail-fly ticket to Munich
3 nights Munich (locked in)
2 nights Nördlingen (still cancellable)
2 nights Würzburg (still cancellable)
Leave am from Würzburg then 1 Last night in…? I am debating between somewhere between Würzburg and Frankfurt or somewhere on the Rhine?

Would 1 day be enough to do a Rhine cruise, I am worried too rushed and maybe better to save it for another time? Wiesbaden seemed to have some accommodations with airport shuttles.

So it could be possible to get an early start out of Würzburg, train to Wiesbaden, leave bag at hotel, train to Rüdesheim or Bingen to catch the KD cruise to St Goar, see Rheinfels castle, return by train with stops if time allows, sleep in Rüdesheim, on the last morning see Rüdesheim area and Mainz maybe, then head to airport.

My flight out of Frankfurt is at 14:30, would need to be there ~3 hours ahead for international flight and don’t want to risk any train cancellations, but still want to make the most of my last day… thanks all for any suggestions! I have a tendency to try and fit in too much, and Germany has so many beautiful options!

In early June I recommend Würzburg and the surrounding Main Franken Wien region. Visit a Weinfest and enjoy a Spargel dinner. Look into local bus fare to some villages not served by trains. Main Franken is a great fruit and vegetable region. Fresh trout in some places too. Maybe just spend the last night in Sachsenhausen.

i really like Nordlingen, but you can see the town in a day. And it's kind of awkward to get to by train because you have to switch to the regional MEX line. That being said it's an easy walk of less than 5 minutes into the center of the old city. When you come out of the station look to your right, and walk to the traffic circle, then take the street to the left and in a couple blocks you'll be at the church. (I was there about 2 months ago, by train.)

I wouldn't stay in Wiesbaden, Rudesheim, or Bingen, it's too late to get a good hotel at a reasonable rate. If you stay in Mainz you can stay right on the river and then get to Bingen and catch a boat down the Rhine and a train back. To return you take the train from St Goar to Bingen and then get on the next train to Mainz. It's the RB26 and leaves every half hour. Stay in Mainz, it's only a 30 minute ride to the Frankfurt Airport, and the train (RE2 or S8) will drop you at the terminal. There's a train leaving every 15 minutes.

You'll need to take the ICE from Wurzburg to Mainz, but all the rest of your trips can be done with the 49 euro Deutschland Pass, even Nordlingen.

Thanks for the suggestions!
As part of the Nördlingen segment I was thinking seeing the castle at Harburg (Schwab) as well (either on the way in or a daytrip). But maybe it’s possible to just have 1 night there to allow a bit more time for the Rhine, will take a look.

...somewhere between Würzburg and Frankfurt...

Have you considered Aschaffenburg? It's about half way between the two, has a nice castle, several good parks, good restaurants, and Pompajanum. Google it and see what you think.
