Hello,
Taking a trip in december to germany for christmas markets , for a few days, then paris to a friends home. Don't need anything for Paris. I'm not trying to do JUST christmas markets but some food/castles/history too. Would love thoughts as I build an itinerary.
- day 1 December 10th (arrive 7am) - Arrive in Frankfurt, explore town + christmas market, casual
- day 2 - Rhine day trip...Is it worth doing the rhine in the winter? - back to frankfurt at night. - Maybe Mainz instead?
- day 3 trip to either Heidelberg or Koblenz...something for a castle/history day - don't care about markets much here. Spend the night there.
- day 4 another day in heidelberg or some destimation - spend the night.
- Day 5 - travel to Cologne - spend all day there & christmas market at night.
- Day 6 - leave to paris sometime that day.
I'd love your thoughts on this, and a great place for day 3/4 to get away from the markets and be more history and exploration related.
