I am renting a car in Rosenheim on a Sunday. Enterprise is not open but Sixt is. What do you think of this company? We will never be more than 1/2 hour away from Rosenheim and Munich.
Sixt is a huge, international company.
Just like any other huge international company.
What specifically are your concerns?
Sixt is a big German car rental company, all over Europe and select markets in the USA, like Seattle and Florida where I have used them.
We used them for the first time when we rented for 2 weeks in Croatia and Slovenia. We were impressed with their customer service and ease of getting the car we had requested. They also beat all of the other prices.
I would use them again.
Our first-ever European car rental, back in 2001, was from Sixt, in Avignon, France. I was expecting a German car, but we were issued a Renault - worked great, and we were in France, after all. Very easy check-out and return process. We also rented from them in Reykjavik, Iceland, where we got a Chevy SUV.
On a trip to Sicily in 2012, we seemed to be the only non-Germans landing at the Palermo airport, and while we headed to the Europcar desk (the only ones), everybody else lined up at the Sixt desk. They were all checked out in about the same time as we were, which may be because of the company, or may be because of the clients.
Price is a big concern, so we've usually found another company that's cheaper than Sixt, but they're been a reliable (and relatively affordable) rental company when he have used them.
My concern is that I’ve never rented a car in Europe and I wanted to be sure Sixt is reliable. Tnanks for all of the positive feedback!
Driving is a personal thing, and you may have specific needs for number of passengers, number of suitcases, special equipment, etc., but our rule of thumb has always been to get the smallest vehicle possible that will let us stow our bags out of sight. Easier to fit in a parking space . . . unless you have your heart set on a 7-Series BMW!
Sixt is a major, international car rental agency.
I always use Sixt in Germany.
Sixt is one of the top 3 rental car companies in Germany.
Important to know - independent of company.
1) Do not subscribe what you do not want and you did not read and accept.
2) It is only counting what is standing on your copies of handover protocols (correct entries of pre- and after-damages, the km and the fuel status). Let copies of both protocols handed out to you and keep them until rental car is invoiced the right way.
Have had no problems renting from Sixt. We have used them several times. I did want to point out, most rental cars in Europe are manual, so if you need automatic make sure to ask for it.
Sixt is my go to car rental company in Germany (and DFW too).
They are always super easy to work with and good rates. Never had any issues with returning cars with previously noted damage. I had both my father and my brother rent cars with Sixt when they came to visit me and they were both happy.
