Is fireworks display and dragon blood on the Rhine worth staying for?

I discovered that I will be passing thru the Rhine River and Bonn during a huge fireworks spectacular on the Rhine in Bonn on May 5. Reading the writeups, it sounds pretty awesome. Has anyone been to this in the past? Is it worth it to stay an unintended night in Bonn to witness and take the boat trip to see all 5 fireworks? Sounds like they light up the Rhine and castles with red lights and there is a huge boat parade down the Rhine. Any suggestions?

It definitely is worth staying the extra day - if you can actually still get tickets and accommodation. It's hugely popular. It's hugely popular - for a reason - and thus accommodation gets booked up.
