Ipad apps for Germany travel

Hi !

We are looking to get some Ipad apps that would help us in our trip to germany. It could be general trip apps (planners, or else) Germany specifics apps or german city apps (We will travel to Berlin, Dresden, Nuremberg, Salzburg, Munich and Rhine valley).

Thanks !

If you download the Nook app on your ipad(as I did), you can get some free apps at Barnes and Noble. I know I have seen one for Berlin, but I don't know if it contains the info that you want. But the again, it's free, so you are not out anything! You just search on the site for free Nook apps. Of course, you can purchase apps that you are interested in from various sites.

German Rail has an app to access rail schedules. I downloaded it for my Android tablet. I'm sure there must be one for the iPad as well, but I don't know how to get it.

I usually put the local transit district (Verkehrsverbund) apps on my phone. Virtually all of them have a good one, where I buy tickets and check both schedules and current running, and stops along the way.

I do have access to data, so I use them at the bus stops and on trains. You can do quite a lot with wifi, but not everything.

Particularly good apps that I have used are MVV around Munich, and VGN around Franconia and Nürnberg.

Certainly available for iPhones so I'd expect availability for iPads.

I use the Dbahn app on my iPhone to check departure times etc. Most valuable to me.

To check out cities, I just look them up on Google, which will have a link to the town's website. They will have a list of most popular tourist sights, etc. Sometimes a knowledge of Germany helps.

I use Google Maps App to check for restaurants near our hotel. Once you click on a restaurant, it will normally have ratings from Yelp or some other site. We found our favorite new restaurants in Nördlingen and Augsburg this way in April.
