Interesting Nuremberg architecture outside of the altstadt

I'm wondering if there are any neighborhoods outside of the immediate historic altstadt in Nuremberg that standout with interesting 19th century architecture, realizing that much of Nuremberg was heavily damaged in WW2. I spent two summers in Nuremberg but I was a kid and not too interested and/or observant about those things back then.

You can find interesting examples of 19th century architecture also inside the walls, espcially in the St Lorenz half (south of the river Pegnitz), as much of the inner city was »modernized« in 19th century and the Lorenz quarter survived the bombing of January 1945 better than the Sebald quarter. A few examples (1 = inside the walls, 2 = outside):

Classicism:
1: Elisabethkirche (Jakobsplatz 7)
2: Apollontempel (Äußere Cramer-Klett-Straße 12)

Historism:
1: Gewerbemuseum (Gewerbemuseumsplatz 2), Hotel Deutscher Kaiser (Königsstrasse 55)
2: Main train station (Bahnhofsplatz), Palace of Justice (Fürther Str. 110, with the well knwon
Courtroom No 600)

Art Nouveau (Jugenstil):
1: Kaufhaus Weißer Turm (Ludwigsplatz 24)
2: Opera House (Richard Wagner-Platz), Ensemble Prinzregentenufer 3-7,
Bismarckschule (Bismarckstrasse 20), Villa Virchowstrass 34.

The Nuremberg tourist info has an info page on architecture in Nuremberg including a map.

Just as info: the German name of the epoch is "Jugendstil", there was a "d" missing. In Nuremberg the Volksbad is another example.

Tip: in Norway's town Ålesund a huge part of the center was rebuilt in Jugendstil after a huge fire in 1904.

Thanks for the correction. Anyway, the Volksbad has been closed since the 90s and has fallen into disrepair. Very sad, it was the "adventure bath" of my childhood years. Since a few weeks there are security works in progress for a planned renovation, so that the whole complex is inaccessible.

Thanks for ideas everyone, and Nigel, Furth looks really nice, and very easy to incorporate into a visit.

Erlangen (northwest or Nuremberg proper) is also an easy place to visit. It's the University town where Furth was the industrial center.

If you go to Fürth you can get a lead pencil too.
