Hi Everyone: Just wondering if anyone has flown from N. America to Europe with Lufthansa Airlines? We have a question regarding WiFi/Internet usage while flying. If we purchase Internet usage for our flight, is it good for only one device, or can two people access the Internet on two different devices at the same time? Or do we have to set up two different accounts, one for each of us? We contacted Lufthansa customer service but have not yet had a reply. (Hope I explained this clearly.) Thank you very much, and appreciate your comments.
Our situation last month was with Ryan Air, not Lufthansa, but my husband purchased their in-air Internet service to do some necessary business. Signing up in-flight was very easy, but it was for one iPhone. If the service could be shared, everybody onboard could’ve logged on with that one purchase.
One device only. Otherwise, as previously mentioned, an entire plane could share ti.
Dont do anything until you get on the plane. Sometimes, the internet doesn't work.
Regarding sharing, I just used T-Mobile's free one hour of inflight wifi from Charlotte to Grand Rapids, and the sign-in details said wifi hotspot was not allowed. But it said "with full flight texting", whatever that means.
For other carriers, "normal" texting may or may not work inflight, as it is not an internet data thing.
On our longer flight to Ireland, American A/L used Panasonic as an internet source and there was no mention of the free T-Mobile option, just two paid options, 2 hours $17, or the whole flight $35.
And on our flight, the onboard wifi was not turned on until nearly at altitude.
Thanks to Everyone for your helpful advice. My husband mainly likes to watch movies while flying, and I prefer just to listen to music. So we can download material before we fly. We won't sign up for any internet unless we need it on board. "Happy Travels" to all.
