Humboldthain Park Area in Berlin

Can anyone tell me what the area around Humboldthain Park in Berlin is like? Would it compare to Prenzlauer Berg?

Thanks!

Your question is very vague. Prenzlauer Berg is an area with 164,000 people - so nobody knows to which area you compare to.

Also Humboldthain has some Kieze (neighbohoos around, e.g. Gesundbrunnen, Brunnenviertel and parts of others.

Here is a description of the area from a real estate relocater: https://the-red-relocators.com/relocation-guides-germany/real-estate-germany/berlin-district-profiles/berlin-gesundbrunnen/

You can also take advantage of the Google Maps street-level views of the area and "walk around."

I think the park itself is great. As mentioned above, Prenzlauer Berg is a pretty diverse area of Berlin. The Humboldthain Park area didn't strike me at all like the crazy gentrified Kollwitzplatz area of Prenzlauer Berg -- maybe a bit like the area around Mauer Park but more international/ethnic.

Rick recommends staying in Prenzlauer Berg, but of course there are hotels all over the city. I was wondering if the neighborhood on the north side of Humboldthain Park would be a good option. Not far from the Gesundbrunnen station.

It is not a typical place the people on this forum report staying. The two I see the most are Prenzlauer Berg and Savigny Platz. I stay in a B&B in a flat in a 1905 building off Ku'damm close to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The area is pretty commercial, but I love that place... and the owner.

Hey... you could stay in this area and report back. Maybe start a trend...

Gesundbrunnen area is not a typical tourist area and compared to the touristic places of Prenzlauer Berg less scenic. You will find more buildings from 50s, 60s and 70s which have a very functional look. Badstraße is in famous Monopoly game the cheapest street - of course changed a lot in last decades - so traditionally it is an area for just normal people. With Berliner Unterwelten you have a liked touristic attraction nearby. The access to public transport is very good, so you will reach a lot of places quickly, e.g. Alexanderplatz.

In total more a resident than a tourist area with a multi-cultural mix of people. Not the most beautiful part of the city but also some authentic spots.
