How to Use a City+ ticket

Hello all,

I will be traveling in Germany soon and have purchased Intercity tickets that include City+ fares. The first time I will use this will be from our hotel in Berlin to the Hbf. From what I can tell, I can use Komfort check in via the app once I board my Berlin to Frankfurt train but is there something I need to do when I board the SBahn to get to the main train station to activate the City+ ticket? Or is it just a matter of showing it if I am asked?

You just show it if asked (and chances are you won't be asked). No need to activate it.

In the coulda, woulda, shoulda, department, you could have just purchased the ticket from your closest Berlin S-Bahn station at no additional cost.

That only means that you take over the conductor's control work. You get nothing out of it and on top of that it's inconvenient. I wouldn't bother with that.
