My daughter and I are doing a day trip to Lubeck, any recommendations on how to spend our time? We are coming by train from Kiel and have about 4-5 hours to poke around.
Lübecks old town is a World Heritage Site and twice as big as Rothenburg odT. Rothenburg has one big medieval church, Lübeck six or seven. It was the most important city of the Baltics in the Middle Ages. Just stroll around, explore the old town and don't forget to visit Niederegger, the famous Marzipan confectioner.
We went to Luebeck as a daytrip from Hamburg. We saw the huge medieval gatehouse, went up the tower of St. Peter's, and walked around the old city center which has beautiful late-medieval buildings including the Markt (marketplace) with highly decorative walls and towers. You can also walk along the river. We didn't do that because it rained most of the day.
You gotta visit Springfield Donuts & Coffee.
Going234, I like how you think! I have a special relationship with doughnuts and coffee!
Thanks all for the recommendations!
