How long does it generally take to go through the Pergamon Museum? I'd like to buy our tickets in advance to to save the line however I'm not sure how much time to allow. I've heard its possible to do see in less than 2 hours but also don't want to speed walk through. My dilemma is that our tour of the Reichstag building is at 1:30. If we went to the Pergamon before Reichstag tour we would only really have 2 hours to see the museum since they open at 10. My other option is to book tickets for after Reichstag tour since they are open until 8pm on Thursdays.

Although the area housing the Pergamon Altar is closed (thus reducing the time needed to see the full museum), much remains on view, including the glorious Ishtar Gate. I spent more than two hours in the Pergamon in 2015, and there are a lot of antiquities that are only marginally interesting to me, though I am generally quite slow in museums. I imagine you will want substantially more than two hours and recommend that you plan to visit the Pergamon after the Reichstag.
