DB: "No Price Information Available"

Why would DB Navigator App say:

""No Price Information Available" (for one particular departure time)

So I did a "practice run" (fake reservation) for a later departure just to go through the process and after selecting seat preferences, I hit "continue" and got a "Oops! The server returned a "500 Internal Server Error"

Why is this happening?

Thanks very much! :o}

And in order to help you better I will now try to see if I can reproduce your problem. Which I now can...

So normally a "500 internal server error" means that something went wrong in the back end system.

For such complex international trips the DB system will split your ticket, as you will have noticed, in a part that it can produce itself, and a part that it will try to obtain from, in this case, the SNCF.
And it is possible that an error happened when it was communicating with the SNCF system.

Options are:
- try again later
- look at where the ticket was split, and buy the two parts separately.

Don't worry, your connection is protected. The railways have an agreement on this. Just don't buy a OuiGo ticket.

"No Price Information Available" came up because the French OGV 7653 train is currently not possible to reserve, but it requires a reservation. No idea why, but it is a problem with the French system.

For the later departures that day: You can google "500 Internal Server Error" - it is probably a problem with your cache / cookies. Try to delete cookies and empty your cache - because I could continue successfully.

I was just going to comment, but much like the previous comment, that error is common on international routes, especially if booking far ahead (before all tickets and reservations are available) or if there are multiple changes once you cross into another country, and issues with DB offering that ticket.

That "OGV 7653 " train is a OuiGo train, and that is the train you should not book.

OuiGo is a separate, low cost brand operated by SNCF, but not part of the agreement SNCF has with other railways regarding continuation of journey. OuiGo trains can only be booked directly on SNCF, but are in the timetable, so do turn up in the DB booking system, as that starts with a timetable look up.

So if you book that, and your train to Paris is delayed and you miss the train, you lose your ticket. If you book a normal TGV however your connection is protected.
