I was surprised to see that the European delivery program for BMW only pick up customers at the Munich airport. We will already be at a Marriott Courtyard near the Munich Ost train station and therefore will need to get to the Welt. How do we do that using public transport?

You take the U-Bahn to Olympiazentrum, then it is about a 300 yard (meter) walk south to BMW Welt.
Either the U8 from Hbf, or U3 from Marienplatz. The S-Bahn from Munich Ost will take you to either.
And, if you don't want to walk the 500 yard (meter) walk from the Marriott to Ostbahnhof, there is a tram in front of the hotel (stop is to the left in front of the Motel One) that will take you there. Its a 2.90 EUR Inner Zone ticket per person all the way to Olympiazentrum.
