How do I book connecting or adjacent deluxe sleeper cars on City Night Line?

Traveling in a party of three from Rome to Munich.

When I go to the Bahn or Rail Europe website with a party of 3, I'm only offered the option of a triple deluxe sleepr.

I had read it was possible to book side by side deluxe sleepers, either connecting or adjacent. How would I go about doing this?

I would like my female relatives to have their own private compartment, with me next door.

What is your travel date and are you buying tickets or using a rail pass? Compartments are in short supply in the next 2 months.
You can always buy 2 tickets, one with a single Deluxe compartment and one with a double Deluxe compartment. Don't about guaranteeing that they are next to each other.

I rode the Amsterdam to Munich route in April. We had 2 couples (2, 2 bed sleepers). I booked them under the same reservation and we had rooms next to each other with a connecting door without ever requesting it. So I'm guessing if it's booked under the same reservation they will try to keep them together. Although things may be different during the busy travel season. I LOVED the night train. Best decision we made. We also took it from Munich to Venice. Enjoy!

At the end of May 2016 I took that Amsterdam-Munich night train, or least the part starting from Duisburg, having reserved a seat in the general seating area. The coach was practically empty until we pulled in at midnight at Frankfurt airport where a ton people got on, taking up every seat. The rest of the ride was uneventful. Yes, I would do it again...no problem.

These are the online options if you start a booking on the DB site for 3 adults traveling together. I do expect the computer to keep you as close together as possible, and I also think there's only one car for the deluxe sleepers. If you want a different combo, you'd have to do it by phone or by booking the two parties separately.

If you buy on line from Deutsche Bahn, they are available if you do two separate bookings, One in a Deluxe Single for 199 EUR and two in a Deluxe Double for 318 EUR. If you want adjoining compartments, you should call Deutsche Bahn, +49 1806 10 11 11, or email, fahrkartenservice@bahn.de
