We will be traveling from Prague to Munich next summer.
We will only be spending the day and that night in Munich.
Any recommendations to stay at,,,, near the old town,,?? maybe or better places?
Thank John
Take a look at the Lux. We stayed there in Dec. 22 and absolutely loved it. There is no lift though, in case that matters. The large spiral staircase is beautiful so you almost don't notice the stairs;). Breakfasts there are really good as well as their cappuccinos;)
Another place we have stayed that was good is Hotel am Viktualienmarkt. It is also a great location, the rooms are quite spacious, but a bit sterile. Nothing bad, just more generic. They have a lift, but a tiny one, and the staff was great.
Information that would be helpful would be to know how you are traveling from place to place and what your next destination is. If you were arriving by air or leaving by air, I would make a different suggestion than if all your travel was by train.
I stayed at the Hotel Am Markt that was mentioned above. It's a good location in old town, next to the Viktualienmarkt and a short couple of minutes from Marienplatz and the metro stop there. If you're arriving by train it's very convenient. Hotel was comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was extra but it was wonderful. My stay there was 10 years ago so I can't speak to current quality but it still gets good reviews on booking dot com.
Thank You everyone for the reply's
