Hotel Recommendation in Nuremberg & Duration

Hello I am new to site. We are looking for best places to stay in Nurnberg (Sept 2025).

How many days to see highlights in the city?

Thanks,
Matt

Matt, we liked the Hotel Victoria very much when we stayed there for Christmas markets in Dec, 2024. It's inside the city walls and across the street and connected by an underground passage to the train station.

Not sure what you mean about the "lights." If that means "highlights," I could fill two days with WW2 sights and another with more cultural sights.

I second Hotel Victoria. We go over often for the Xmas Markets and that's where we always stay. You can see photos and read reviews on TripAdvisor, but def book direct on the Hotel Victoria website. If you have questions, you can email them, they are VERY helpful. Breakfast is also included.

I'd say at least 1-2 days minimal to explore the Old Town. More than that if you want to see the Courtroom, Documentation Center, etc. Remember that 3 nights is only 2 full days and that isn't much. They have a good FREE walking tour of the town.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll be sure to checkout your recommendation.

Yes I meant “highlights” (insert smiley face here)

Thanks,
Matt

We visited Nuremberg as a day trip from Munich 2015, and I am considering a longer stay in Nuremberg on our next trip to Germany - in 2025 or 2026. We used "Tour Guide Kevin" for a private tour of the Nazi sites - the Rally grounds, Courtroom 6, Congress Hall, Zeppelin Field, etc. I am planning on taking some of his other tours on our next trip.

We also used Kevin for Nazi tours.

As far as the FREE Old Town tour, just GOOGLE 'free tours of Nuremberg' and they will come up. You can also search for them on TripAdvisor. Most towns have them. They work on Tips. We've taken them in MANY towns. They are usually very good. We just booked the free tours for Bruges and Brussels for our next trip.

We stayed at the Durer Hotel, which was ok, but it was in the best possible location. You walked out the hotel and saw the old town walls, a cute small square with restaurants and bars, and the imperial castle above you. The other areas of Nuremberg were very loud and chaotic, but we were there in July and maybe it was busier?

I just visited Nurnberg for the second time last month.

Both times I stayed at the Adina hotel. I like the location but I mostly stayed for the amenities. Every room has a kitchen as well as a washer/dryer. Comes in handy after a bit of traveling. It's an aparthotel.

It's fairly modern. If you're looking for old world charm, this isn't it.
