Hotel Platzl in Munich

Hope I have posted this in the right section. Just finished our stay here. Two separate stays last week and one night stay just recently. There are some good things about this hotel and a few bad things. The good: great location, nice breakfast, "gemütlich" breakfast room with very good breakfast environment, very nice and helpful young ladies working the hotel breakfast, nice space optimization and storage in limited space of room. The not so good: complicated light switches, complicated thermostat, ac does not appear to be fully operational, poor lighting, very limited electrical outlets, front office staff (while generally pleasant) were often young and not that knowledgeable, nearby loud construction noises in hotel itself. We often knew more about local logistical issues than the young ladies at front desk did. We were in a hurry to leave and were waiting in line for receipts when a second staff member neglected to offer us any help (even though he probably knew we were in a hurry). Another guest came up and he waited on them instead of us as we continued to wait in line. I had dealt with this employee earlier and he struck me as a bit pissy. The second time I encountered him at the hotel, he was very helpful.
Conclusion - locaction and breakfast are very good, but knowledge of front desk staff (no concierge as far as I can tell) seems to be rather limited. Rooms are understandably small in high rent district and the lighting in rooms is poor. For the money we spent, I don't think we would stay here again, but it was not in any way an altogether unpleasant experience. I would give this hotel a B- all things considered.

I could not post (copy and paste) this in the restaurant and hotel reviews section, because I have already posted it here. Perhaps the admin or moderator can step in and let me post this in the reviews section so that I can delete this message in the general Germany section.

It's funny how the brain and memory works. I saw your title and something in me clicked. I looked it up and sure enough I stayed here 17 years ago! I can't remember much of yesterday, but this I remember. Thanks for the review.
