I will be in Munich for a few days this spring. I am looking for a decent hotel that is centrally located and clean but doesn't cost too much. Thanks

I'll second Motel One. The most centrally located one is Sendlinger Tor, but the Deutsches Museum location is also pretty convenient to the city center as well.

We always stay at Hotel Europaischer Hof (heh.de) when in Munich. It's directly across from the HBF, great breakfast, clean rooms, very friendly staff and prices have always been reasonable. Easy walking distance to city center and a tram stop just outside the hotel.

Our family of four (two parents, two kids) stayed at Motel One Sendlinger Tor. Nice experience. Walkable from main station. We got two adjoining rooms- we split up - one parent with each kid.
We asked for high floor to have the great view (this was a RS guidebook tip!).
