Hotel Feedback for Munich

I've shortlisted a few hotels. Would like to get some feedback on whether they are a good place to stay.

Leonardo Hotel Munich City North - Dachauer Str. 421, Munich, BY, 80922
marc münchen - Senefelderstr. 12, Munich, BY, 80336
K+K Hotel am Harras München - Albert-Rosshaupter-Strasse 4, Munich
Munich Marriott Hotel City West - Landsberger Strasse 156, Munich, 80687
Leonardo Hotel Munich City East - Carl-Wery-Strasse 39, Munich, 81739

My criteria is need to be near a station, preferably on the same line as Munich HBF. Need twin beds and air cond. Would love washer/dryer but for the apartments I looked at, doesn't have twin beds available. Going in June. Hoping to spend less than EUR150 per night but if have washing machine will go a bit higher. Would like to be near a supermarket if possible.

Are there better places to stay for this price?

Thanks

I stayed at the Marc Munchen a couple of years ago, really liked it and am going back there next month. The rooms are a reasonable size, and the breakfast was excellent.

Thanks, I read reviews that the area is a bit shady being near the main station. Did you have any problems?

Other than the marc, all the others are sort of out of town. The Leonardo North would be OK if you wanted to go to the BMW Museum or the Olympic Stadium. The K+K (which is a nice hotel chain) would be OK if you are going to Oktoberfest.

The bed they show online at the marc can be split into twin beds. There is a laundromat (Waschsalon in German) about 2 blocks away on Paul-Heyser Strasse. There is a Rewe Supermarket in front of the Hauptbahnhof at 1 Bahnhofplatz.

Since you are willing to stay out of the center, I would like to suggest Hotel Gastof Maisberger.

It ticks all of your boxes, except for washer/dryer. Located at the S1 stop in Neufahrn it is 10 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from Munich Central Station. It has large rooms, air conditioning, a grocery across the street. The restaurant and breakfast are amazing.

We originally stayed here when priced out of the center of Munich due to Oktoberfest and discovered we loved this hotel and its location. It was easy to explore Munich during the day and a pleasure to return to this hotel at night. This family run hotel is a great choice.

It does look shady around the main train station, but we have walked the area in the evening's and even stayed there a few times and no we seen nothing or were ever fearful. That's us and some might disagree but your the judge.

Sam, if not for oktoberfest, is it still a convenient location and good neighbourhood? I looked on maps and it takes 10 mins to Munich HBF.

Thanks i will have a look at this. 30 mins into the city seems a bit longer than i would like. But if it is good, then worth considering.

How about at night?

Take a walk down the street with google street view. A Hotel Mercure across the street as well as a youth hostel type hotel. A couple of Italian restaurants. Worst is a game room and gambling joint at the far end of the block.

Lets face it,, most tourists would prefer to be to the east of the Hbf around the Neues Rathaus or the Viktulienmarkt or Hofbrauhaus.

I have stayed at the Pension Locarno, just outside the Hbf, bathroom down the hall and no A/C and full of drunk Australians. But hey, it was Oktoberfest and the price was right. I've staid at the Holiday Inn City Center across the river in Haidhausen with an Aldis and an entrance to the S-Bahn in the basement. I've staid in Arabellapark at the Westin Grand Munich for a trade show.

Yeah doesn't look the most exciting.

I'm leaning towards K+K Hotel am Harras München or leonardo. I like moosach from a previous stay in that area. Between the two which one is better choice?

I am elderly and travel on my own but never had any worries about the area. I found it was really close to the station, there is a good Italian restaurant down the road where I ate one night,

The night is when it looks the shadiest. Listen I wouldn't not stay there. We usually stay on the other side of the city center off the S1 coming from the airport. Get off that the Rosensheimer exit and a short walk away is a really nice Motel One. The walk into the center takes about 20 minutes but we're old. 😊

Stayed at Munich Marriott West
Brand new and only 9 quick stops
from bhf

Great location just enough away from everything

The station is under heavy construction so keep
that in mind a multi year project
