I am looking at this hotel on Tripadvisor and it looks like a spectacular value! I know it is the oldest gay hotel in Munich, and that is great with me. My husband and I (in our 50s) are most interested in location, cleanliness and safety. I think I read there were "saunas" there on the property, so I am curious if this is a bathhouse of some sort first and hotel second? Or is the sauna just for hotel guests? I guess really I am looking into the safety aspect of this hotel. Can anyone advise? Sure would love to book it!

From your posting history I surmise you and your husband are not a gay couple.
You should read the house rules on the bathhouse (https://www.deutsche-eiche.de/files/de-v6/Hotel-Deutsche-Eiche_Hausordnung-HouseRules.pdf). It is clearly not a place you would be welcome as a woman.
I don't know if the hotel is similarly intended for male guests. You might want to email them if you don't get a reply here. Contact information is on their web site (https://www.deutsche-eiche.com/The_Hotel).
