While many peoples flights will be disrupted, this is a desperately sad situation, that anyone would think that was the only way to resolve such a matter.

"The police action has ended. Preparations are underway for the fastest possible resumption of flight operations. We are in close coordination with the security forces as to when the access roads and terminals will be reopened. Nevertheless, there are still considerable cancellations and delays today. Please keep an eye on your flight status and contact your airline if necessary."
More than 100 flights were canceled and several planes were rerouted during the 18-hour hostage situation. Thousands of travelers had been affected by the standoff and hundreds were put up at hotels close by.
Flight operations at the airport resumed on Sunday night, almost 24 hours after the hostage situation began.
