Hiking Near Boppard

We are going to be in Boppard at the end of the month for 2 nights. We will be traveling with 3 children (7 and younger) but are experienced hikers. The kids can comfortably do a 1-2 mile hike, possibly longer if there are places to stop and explore/eat. We plan to explore the stretch from Bacharach to Boppard. I've been trying to research scenic walks and hikes but am becoming overwhelmed with finding clear details.

I know there is a chairlift that takes us above Boppard but I am not sure it will work for us as we are a group of 5 and each child would need their own adult to safely ride. Would this be something that we could walk/hike to get to the top?

Are there other trails/scenic walks in one of the towns in the Bacharach to Boppard stretch that fit our criteria?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Boppard has a beautiful promenade along the river. You can walk along this for miles and miles. There are bike paths as well.

You can hike to the viewpoint at the top of the chair lift. I have not done it myself, but I saw the trail. If you use Restaurant GedeonsEck as your destination in Google maps, you can see the trail.

I've done this segment of the Rhine Castle Trail a couple of times:

Click on the profile on the right to see the location of two different eateries on the trail.

Wonderful views. I'd trake the train from Boppard to St Goar to start (free w/ the VRM Guest Ticket.) It's rated moderate, but from St Goar station to the clifftop the initial climb up staircases and paths is strenuous. You might look into taking the 681 bus up to Biebernheim from St Goar Fähre (ferry) stop and approach the trail from there:
