We plan to travel to Bavaia in May-June 2016 to do the King Lugwig Way hike but we are having a difficult time finding any information about this hike and companies who will do luggage transfers on the internet. Books seem to be non existent.
Also would like to hike some areas around Mittenwald.
Any suggestions on how I get information in English to help plan this trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
This British walking tour company will book a self-guided walk with all lodging and luggage transport:

It should include a guidebook or pamphlet in English, and maps. They have you walking 9-16 miles a day. Looks nice!
Here is another:

Thanks for your suggestions but we usually plan our own hikes rather than use a tour company.
Self-planned is what I normally do too, from the whole John Muir Trail in Sierras to lots of hiking in the Swiss Alps and Dolomites. But we tried the 'self-guided' option with a tour company recently for a Multi-day walk in the UK and it was fine. The main difference from doing it on our own was that the lodging choices were booked for us, along with luggage transfer.
I thought since you apparently do not speak or read German this might be a good option for you, because they make it easy for English speakers. I do speak German myself, but if I could find a German company for luggage transfers, would that truly be useful to you?
As for hikes around Mittenwald, there are books and web pages available in English that will offer you good guidance and information.
Don't know if this helps and most are in German or the English page loses the details in translation. Maybe you can contact some of the offices listed?
Wandern ohne Gepäck is hike without a pack.
King Ludwig weg spazieren - spazieren is walk

The links from the first one are broken.
However this one:

Is a self-guided tour that is exactly the same, day by day, as the Mac's Adventures self-guided tour I posted above ( which Ruth rejected). It includes lodging, route maps ( in German) and luggage transport. But it is a lot less money---€544 per person; less with a group of four.
I am really glad you posted this link, as the company offers a lot of walks in Germany and one of them might suit our family (small children, parents, and Oma and Opa) next year.
TO mchpp - Thank you. The link was helpful especially using GOOGLE translate. I will email them. So helpful!! Doing some other research I found out that Fussen, which is at the end of the route, is just 1.5hrs. away by bus to Oberammergau where there are numerous hikes to take advantage of too.
Lola- you are right, it is cheaper than macadventures for the same route.
Hi Ruth,
And here’s another German company worth considering - in English to make it easier for you.
Looks like similar pricing to the other.
I’ve used this company before and have been very happy with their service.
Many thanks! I will definitely check it out :)
