Thx for all previous advise. As noted, we are in Gengenbach, Black Forest for 4 nights - Sept 02-05 and check out on the 6 th. We will have a rental car with us at all times.

We seem to have a choice of 2 apartments (with kitchenette) as follows:

CHOICE #1

This is EUR 37 / night = total EUR 148. Plus additional for Konus card? - still not clear. I am in touch with them to clarify this. I understand that if additional, it would be about EUR 2 per day per person = total EUR 16 for the stay.
We already have a tentative booking here (no deposit paid yet). I think this place is some 4km from the town centre.

CHOICE #2

This is EUR 45 / night = total EUR 180. Plus EUR 1/95 per day per person surtax = total EUR 195/60. Konus card is included.
This is available as of today (e-mail just received). This place is some 4km from the town centre.

2 is about EUR 32 more and all else looks the same - including the distance from town centre.

Can anybody advise o this? - which should we select? Is #2 better? - in terms of location etc? #2 is clear in terms of property etc - as they have their own website - but #1 is not as clear.

Ideally we would wish to be close to town centre and the place here we have also been advised to check out is :

I am in touch with them - but the only downside seems to be the 46 steps to the 3/floor apartment !

Any advice would be appreciated. All other apartments seem to be sold out.
