I will be visiting Herrsching for couple of nights in early October. One day will include a hike to Andechs to visit the abbey and drink the beer. Also planning to do a brief cruise on the Ammersee on my arrival day. Any tips or dining ideas are appreciated.

Out of your way, but a nice Beer Garden on the Maisinger See. Its between the Ammersee and Starnberger See farther east then Andechs. Open thru mid October. Could be hard to get to using public transportation. They don't make their own Beer. I read that the Maisinger Hell is brewed by Brauerei Jacob in der Oberpfalz und the Steinbier from Brauerei Leikeim. https://www.maisingerseehof.de/
