Working on 2 options to start trip to munich and budapest.
Option 1- fly to frankfurt and spend a day each in wurzburg, nuremburg, and regensburg (have friend there) then into munich
Option 2- fly to munich and spend a day each regensburg, nuremburg, and need help on 3rd town (ulm, augsburg, or othe)
Asking for suggestions on the cities chosdn or othef optkons.
Dont care for museums,like castles, good vibe and food/drink.
Will be using regional trains for transportation.
Use Option 2 and ask your friend in Regensburg to go to Nuremburg and Bamberg with you...
Wurtzburg is a great small city. If you can see it, it's worth a visit.
There is a direct high-speed train from Frankfurt airport to Würzburg and Nuremberg. From Munich airport you'd have to take a 45 minutes ride on a local train first to get to the central train station to meet your long-distance trains.
From Frankfurt Airport to Würzburg it's a 1:25 hours train ride only - and trains run every hour.
