Help with my itinerary from Berlin To Munich

Hello, We are active couple in our 50s. We will be in Germany for 2 weeks this Sep. We will start with the Rhine Valley and move on to Berlin for a week. We leave Berlin on a Wed and we have a flight back from Munich on Sun at 3 PM. I would appreciate some ideas for the last 4 days of our trip. We have visited Cologne and Munich/Salzburg on previous trips so do not need to spend any time in Munich except for the last night. We are interested in history, food, beer and are pretty active. We are kind of considering some towns on the Romantic Road ( Rothenburg, maybe Fussen). We prefer trains but are open to driving if that will work better.

Thanks in advance!

Consider Dresden, Leipzig, the Martin Luther towns of Erfurt/Wittenberg/Eisenach, and Nuremburg. Or maybe you have the first two already planned as day trips from Berlin. If you're interested in concentration camp memorials, then in addition to Sachsenhausen near Berlin there's also Buchenwald near Weimar.

If considering Wittenberg, don't overlook the nearby Garden Realm of Dessau-Wörlitz, particularly the portion by Wörlitz.

I really like Leipzig and think it's one of the most underrated large cities in Germany. If zoos interest you, Leipzig has Germany's best.

And speaking of Germany's best, I think Coburg's Veste Coburg is the best castle in Germany. If you consider visiting Erfurt and Bamberg, it's between the two.

Wow, more choices. I guess I have a choice between Martin Luther towns and Romantic Road towns. I had been inclined towards the latter but guess I have to do some more research on the former before deciding.
