Hello, my wife and I are looking for a somewhat budget place to stay near either the airport or Frankfurt Main rail station.
We arrive on Sept. 17th and have reservations to Paris via TGV on Sept 18th at 8:57 am.
We will be returning to Frankfurt on Oct. 1st for a return flight home @ 10:20 am on Oct. 2nd.
It looks like it's a busy time of month in Frankfurt.
We don't want to stay too far from the airport or rail station as the taxi fare will possibly eat up any savings we may have staying very far away.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Tom
There is a huge trade fair going on over the 17th, which makes prices shoot sky high. Neighboring towns won't be much better either.
Get in touch with the Tourism + Congress as they usually have rooms at a lower price when there is a fair going on.

Public transportation is easy to use, so you don't need a taxi. If your train leaves from the main station, it is best to stay near here. Staying at the airport is costly at the Sheraton or the 2 Hiltons. Any other "airport" hotel means waiting around on a shuttle.
Thanks to Jo for her advice.
Thank you all for your replies and help. I really appreciate it.
We found a place near the train station for a decent price. It is the Hotel Aria Frankfurt.
Once again, Thanks.

Is there a money exchange at the airport? I assume there is. Is that a good way to go?

I assume there is one too, but it is NOT the good way to go unless you want to pay more. Get cash from ATM's using your ATM card, (there will ATM's at the airport) and charge larger purchases on your credit card.
