Heidelberg, Freiburg, or Baden-Baden?

Would you pick Heidelberg, Freiburg, or Baden-Baden for a day or two in August?

Love art/architecture and walkable cities, beautiful churches. Not a huge foodie or a beer-/wine-drinker particularly... just wouldn't make decisions around food or drink for where to go.

Myself, I'd go with Friedberg im Breisgau. I don't think you can go wrong there - it's a very picturesque university city with a lot to do and see. Of course, you can say the same thing about Heidelberg, but Freiburg has the advantage of being in the Black Forest, one of my favorite places.

I suggest choosing between Heidelberg or Freiburg.

I agree with the replies. Note that the BF is very good for woodland hiking (which you did not mention.) And in smaller BF cities (not Freiburg) the hotel provides a free local train and bus card, so you can hike one-way.

Freiburg is a lovely historic urban visit.

I think you'll really love Freiburg and the cathedral. Take note of the medieval guilds' stained glass windows. Heidelberg is a great walkable city too, but I'd give the edge to Freiburg given your interest in art/architecture/beautiful churches.

I am with Stephen with Heidelberg. Plenty of architecture and history in an enjoyable environment. The Black Forest is underwhelming except for the Scharzwälderkirschtorte. Freiburg is nice but Alsace is better over the French border.
