I'm heading to Würzburg this May, but the website for the Marienberg Fortress claims it's mostly closed for construction. Does anyone have updates or know if this is still true?

It is the official administration's website. Why should it not be true or up-to-date?
Some more details in this report from BR (public Bavarian TV); not sure what you can access (geo fencing?).

Because plenty of recent reviews don't mention anything being closed (the last such mention was in September 2025):

Possible reason: as mentioned on the admin website and in the video from my posted link, the guided tours are sill happening but on partly other ways and some parts are not accessible.

I have pics of the construction from late last summer. I doubt much has happened since then due to the weather. But there were tours available. I'd call about 30 days out and go from there.
