What is the least expensive mode of travel between Hamburg to Copenhagen?
For example, would there be a ferry from the port nearest Hamburg, Warnemunde, to Copenhagen?
Or, is taking a plane better

According to Deutsche Bahn, 29 euro gets you a train with a single connection in a bit over 5 hours using a "Sparpreis Europa Daenemark" ticket, 2nd class.

Depending on when you are going, you might be able to get the 7:24 direct ICE train, via the Ferry, for 29 Euro. See also thetrainline-europe.com
These tickets do not go on sale until 92 days ahead.

It's usually cheaper than the train, but less frequent.
It goes via the same ferry, Puttgarten-Rødby, as the train.
There is no direct ferry from Germany to Copenhagen.

If you're interested, there is a direct ferry connection from Germany to Norway, ie, from Kiel to Oslo. Take the RB train from Hamburg Hbf to Kiel Hbf.
