Guided Tours From Munich

From Munich, we'd like to take a guided tour, either with Radius or Munich Walk, to Dachau and Neuschweanstein Castle this mid July. Knowing that it's tourist peak season, should I reserve/purchase tickets on their website ahead of time or reserve tickets when we get to Munich? Please advice - thanks!

We did both of these
as day trips from Munich but did them on our own. We bought tickets to Neuschweanstein ahead of time (there was a huge line) but did not purchase ahead of time for Dachau. I do not see any downside to purchasing tickets from the tour guides ahead of time. It will give you one less variable to deal with while traveling.

Hi Stmurray2 - did you take the train/bus to both of these destinations or did you rent a car?

I just want to throw my two cents in about Radius Tours. We used them to plan and rent bikes for a trip down the Danube. I know you are doing something else ....just wanted to give them my highest recommendation. They are first rate. That said, we did the train to Fusson and got tickets on our own and it was quite easy. Have fun!

Maria, maybe we'll be on the same trips!....I'll be in Munich for 6 nights, and a couple months ago booked with Radius: Neuschwansteain, Nuremburg, Dachau, 3-hour city tour, and the beer dinner. Glad to see one of your responders gives Radius high marks!!

Maria,

At that time of year, I'd suggest booking with Radius Tours in advance, as they could be busy. I've used the "spontaneous approach" in the past with no problems, but not at that time of year. Also, even if a tour is filling up, they can usually find a spot for one person.
