Gose Beer in Munich?

Hello fellow travelers!

My wife and I have become quite fond of sour style beers - especially a good Gose. It is my understanding that Gose originated in Goslar / Leipzig (central Germany). We are traveling to Munich in December, and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with sour beers in Munich or specifically Gose? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Sorry, Munich is pilsner lager and wheat beer territory. Any sour beers you find there will likely be from somewhere else.

I'll repeat what DJ has said. Never encountered any sour beers in Munich (and I drank plenty of beer there), it is Pilsner, Wheat or Dunkel.

From the big brewers you will not find much in the sour or farmhouse ales. Some of the craft brewers (there are a few, like Crew Republic) might do a seasonal brew in that style, but that is hit or miss. Your best bet would be a bar that specializes in a variety of beer and craft beer.

You might try Tap House Munich, they have a good tap selection plus a variety of bottles. If they do not have one of the Gose's on hand you might try some of the Belgian Guezes and Lambics, plus there are a couple of other sour and farmhouse styles out there.
