We are two couples going on river boat and bike cruise from Passau Germany July 14-21-2017. We need a nice hotel in Passau Germany from July 12 and 13 and some travel hints for the 13th in the area of Passau. Any recommendations.

Passau itself has plenty to entertain you for a day. Visit the castle (we took public transportation up and walked down through the forest) and the Mariahilf church. Take a boat tour. It's lovely to just walk along the various rivers that converge at Passau.

We have the same question (for a cruise in June) -- any recommendations on a hotel in Passau or Vilshofen for the night before cruise embarkation? Thanks!

We had a nice stay in the Hotel König during a Christmas Market visit. It is near the town center and the boat docks. They had a good breakfast bar and nice rooms. Sometimes it gets a little pricey for my taste. I would check HRS.com.
