Do the restaurants in Germany/Switzerland typically have gluten-free selections? Thanks again.
I cannot say if it is "typical" but many menus I recall have symbols for designation of Gluten-Frei and also Vegan dishes.
Many will call out particular dishes for special ingredients, and they are required by law to indicate certain allergens and ingredients - usually designated by a series of small numbers.
Depends on the restaurant. Medium to higher end restaurants will usually make it clear, as gluten-free is a "thing" now in Germany (i.e. gluten-free sections in stores, bakeries, etc). Traditional restaurants especially in smaller towns may be less likely to show it on the menu, but if you indicate your allergen to the server and you can eat meat and potatoes, you shouldn't have a problem finding something.
I have Celiac. I have been using FindMeGF. Its usually pretty good. Check it out if you havent. I also always carry snacks with me.
