Gluten free Berlin

Does anyone have suggestions for restaurants or grocery stores that are gluten free or are great with gluten free options? Are there any especially delicious gluten free brands to try? My Berlin hotel has a kitchenette so I’ll be able to cook as well. Thanks!

Look for the grocery store chain Rewe, which usually has a GF section. Schär is a reliable brand, but most GF brands are pretty good in Germany. There is so much more variety available than in most places in the US.

In Berlin, however, there is a fantastic bakery called Jute Bäckerei at Schönhauser Allee 52a in Prenzlauer Berg. I walked kilometers three days in a row to get rolls there.

Pretty much every grocery store offers a decent range of gluten-free products. Larger the store, the more products.

Al Natura is the biggest chain Biostore, and they have also more GF products than places like Edeka or Rewe, and certainly more than the discounters. But, they are also more expensive of course.

Agree that practically every larger supermarket will have a section with gluten free products nowadays. Including pizza in the freezer...

Even my absolutely not Hip but long established Italian restaurant here in the south west of germany has these days gluten free pizza so my guess is that you will have no problems in Berlin.
