Hi everyone. I have a ticket to Freiburg from the Frankfort airport. I want to make sure I know where I am going since my connection is a bit tight. Can anyone give me some tips navigating to the right station at the airport. The ticket says Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf. Thanks.
The long distance train station ("Fernbahnhof") is adjacent to Terminal 1 and connected through a walkway. Just watch the signs. There are a couple of youtube videos out there that may help you get familiar with the signs or read this from the airport site:

Follow the pictogram signs to the train stations. If you try to follow pre-printed directions or an airport map, you'll get confused because there's several turns and ups and downs staircases. Follow the signs and you can't fail...
...but note, there are two separate stations, one for local trains and one for long distance. If my memory is correct, you reach the local station first, but you'll see signs that continue to point you towards the Fernbahnhof.
I do not know where it is, but I will say that we took the local train to the airport and were trying to find the Hilton and it was really tough.. we walked around for like 30 minutes! It was very confusing. Not sure why, but it was.
Just saying you are smart to work it out ahead of time!

If you simply follow the signs to the Long Distance Train station, you will find your train. The signs are in English.
The Hiltons are right there too, for anyone looking for them. Both the Hiltons and the long distance station are located in the Squaire.
Thanks, guys. This is very helpful.
The regional station is located under the building directly across the access road from Terminal 1. You get to it by going down stairs or escalators directly inside the outside wall of the arrival hall, then thru a passageway under the street. The Fernbahnhof is farther out, across the autobahn. There is a sky bridge from the 2nd floor mezzanine of the arrivals hall to the building across the street. From the bridge, follow the hallway through the building. And, if all else fails, follow the signs. I came in last time into the new A concourse, and the signs directed be around the arrivals hall directly to the Regionalbf. From there there were signs leading me up through the building to the passageway over the autobahn to the Fernbahnhof.
Charlie,
In checking the Bahn.de website, it appears that the majority of trains from Frankfurt airport to Freiburg use the Fernbahnhof, but there's the occasional train that uses the Regionalbahnhof.
I assume your destination is Freiburg im Breisgau and not the Freiberg which is closer to Dresden. There's also a Fribourg / Freiburg in Switzerland, so be sure of your destination when you buy tickets.
As the others have mentioned, the Fernbahnhof is accessed via a Skybridge that passes over the highway. As I recall there's a ticket office close to the tracks (one level down from the sky bridge) which has both staffed counters and Kiosks, so you can buy your ticket there.
