Hi, I've done a fair bit of research on this, but would love confirmation that I'm right! Will be traveling from Colmar, France, to Freiburg, Germany, in mid-October on a Saturday. My understanding is that the quickest route is to take a bus to Breisach, walk a short distance (5 minute walk, I assume from bus station to train station) and to then catch train to Freiburg. My understanding also is that we can purchase a "day" ticket on the bus from driver that will also cover train tix and local transport in Freiburg.
If someone is familiar with this, would appreciate a confirmation that my research is correct. Thank you!!
Buy your ticket to Freiburg from the Colmar bus driver which also covers the train. The bus will drop you off at the train station. Very easy and no walking involved.
We = 2-5? Are you returning to Colmar for the night? You can buy a RegioElsassTicket - €27 for 2-5 adults - which gets you to Freiburg and back via bus + train. It's valid for 24 hours and also good for travel around the Freiburg Transit zone (RVF) on buses and trains.
How's your French - or your German?

Thank you both! We will be staying the night in Freiburg/not returning to Colmar. There are 2 of us. Great to know that bus will drop us at train station -- for the morning bus/train I'm looking at, I think there's only a 7-minute connection.
That is standard, despite what you may think, and planned that way. But, just to ease your mind, the trains to Freiburg go every half hour, so you won't wait long for the next train.
No problem with the 7 min. connection. The bus drops you off at a little train station and it is all perfectly timed.
