We are doing Rick tour that ends in Vienna. We want to visit the Hummel factory in Coburg Germany, then need to get to Frankfurt airport. How is the best mode of travel to accomplish this? Thanks for any and all replies.
I would say the best stress free way to accomplish that transportation wise would be the train. The train schedule is easy to figure out. Here is the link http://www.bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/. You can also drive the stretch as well.
Don't miss the castle in Coburg, Veste Coburg. I think it's the best in Germany.
This link will get you directly to the Bahn schedule webpage. Following the link above will take you here eventually. Why not start here?
Looks like travel time by train, Vienna to Nürnberg to Coburg to Nürnberg to FRA, is about 12 hours (+/-). Do you plan to stay overnight in Coburg?

We do plan to spend at least one night in Coburg, maybe two.
We want to visit the Hummel Factory and museum.
Looks like there aredirect ICEs about every two hours from Vienna to Nürnberg where you would connect to a direct regional train to Coburg. The trip takes about 6½ hours; with advance purchase you can get fares as low as 39€/person.
For the trip onward, it looks like hourly direct connections both from Coburg to Nürnberg and direct hourly ICE connections from Nürnberg to FRA Fernbahnhof. Travel time is 3¾ hours. If you know how long you want to stay in Coburg, advance purchase fare is as low as 49€ for both of you.
