Getting from Breisach to Colmar

We are taking a river cruise that stops in Breisach, Germany and want to go on our own to Colmar, France. The cruise line offers an excursion, but I'm guessing that we would pay less and have more fun doing this on our own. What's the best way to get from Breisach to Colmar? I know there's a bus route. Where are the bus stops in each city? And does anyone have an estimate on how much a taxi or Uber would cost?
We will be docked at Rheinuferstreet 6, 79206 Breisach am Rhein (Viking Dock)

Thank you for your help

When we did this cruise and stop, there were several people who took taxis across the river on their own No idea what it costs, but it's possible the staff on the boat can call for one to meet you. I know they called several taxis to take the people who needed assistance to the place where the excursion buses were picking up the main group, a few blocks away from the dock.

BTW this is where we saw one couple not get back in time, and the boat left without them. They had taken taxi into town on their own.

We took a Viking cruise from Basel to Amsterdam. High water stopped Viking from going into Basel. We had to board the cruise in Breisach. We took an Sbahn from Freiburg.

The Dbahn App shows multiple routes from Breisach to Colmar using that Sbahn in reverse. None look straightforward. Buses are usually listed on the DB app but I did not see any listed. The train station is walkable from the boat dock. Breisach is a fairly small town but you will likely need a map or map app.

As an additional note, when we were direct to Breisach to catch the cruise, we were told about the Viking Dock in Breisach (on Google Maps). There was a Viking ship there but it was not ours. They told us that they knew nothing about our Viking ship. They had noticed another Viking ship along the Rhine about 1/2 mile. We walked there and it was ours. It was docked at a brickyard, probably a rented alternative dock. Later our ship moved to the official Viking berth.

Your plans may or may not be simple. The concierge on the Viking ships have been good for information like this.

Gary Mc makes a good point. I think there were four Viking boats docked when we were there, and we had to cross through one to get to shore. One or two of the boats were Chinese only.

The bus to Colmar leaves from the station in Breisach, a single ticket costs €4.
