Germany Travel Pass

Am planning a 10-12 day trip to Germany

Frankfurt to berlin, Berlin to Dresden, Dresden to Berlin (Flying out from Berlin)
Am interested in visiting, old town, quaint villages, berlin museum island, easy trek etc around these
Cities.
Would like to know if
1. there is a GERMANY TRAVEL PASS VALID ALL PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEMS
i.e train, bus, tram, boat

2. Would I need to take the ICE train tickets for travel to Dresden, Leipzig, Freiberg, Rottenburg etc.
3. Advise if other interesting places
Thanks

Use DB journey planner to find best connections and also ticket types:
https://int.bahn.de/en

You can enter full addresses - not only station names.
Main / central stations are named "Hauptbahnhof" in German; short "Hbf".
Book always the connection and a seat reservation.

If you mean the German Rail Pass Flexi you can use all kind of trains on your selected travel dates.

Normally people use long-distance trains (e. g. ICE) to travel between mentioned cities but you can also choose regional trains only. In journey planner you can select "mode of transport".

For local days in your plan just buy regional day tickets from the local provider, e. g. RMV in Frankfurt or BVG in Berlin. For arrival and departure days you can include the City Ticket option for local transport.

Advise if other interesting places

Define your "interesting".

What is roughly your planned travel date?

Browsed through the https://int.bahn.de/ site
There is a Deutschland-Ticket valid for all modes of transport.
However, I am confused over the fact that if i travel for eg from Dresden to Freiburg or dresden to leipzig then would i be able to use the Deutchland Ticket
or do i have to buy another one. And would this Ticket be valid for all buses, trams, subway throughout Germany.

Also what is the process, do i validate it everytime i enter a train, bus or tram ?

Appreciate your help

1.) No.

The German Rail Pass covers trains only - all trains.
The Deutschland-Ticket covers regional trains and all buses, trams, subways. Not ICE or other long-distance trains. Please read about it carefully. It is available by subscription only andcovers an entire calendar month.

2.) There's a Freiberg near Dresden. ICE is not needed. There are other Freibergs too. Freiburg might be in extreme southwest Germany (known as Freiburg im Breisgau) or elsewhere as there is more than one. Which one do you mean? Rottenburg? or Rothenburg? You probably mean Rothenburg near Würzburg, known as Rothenburg ob der Tauber. You will need to ride at least some ICE trains to reach Freiburg im Breisgau and Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

3.) "If"? There are other interesting places, for sure. Cannot do that though. Only a few thousand characters are allowed in these posts. Check out some guidebooks to see what appeals to you, or rely on the pages Rick Steves has written on this website, which has a few of the many options.

All information is given on the web page for Deutschland-Ticket.

Can you please read and understand the provided information, e. g. "(not valid in ICE, IC/EC)"?

And as already written you can do all journeys by long-distance or by with regional trains. Use the journey planner to find out details such as prices and differing duration of travel.

Yes, public buses, trams, U-Bahn, S-Bahn, regional trains.
No you do not validate it, you just have it with you along with your ID and show it when a ticket inspector asks.

The Deutschland Ticket is not a simple purchase, it is a subscription that you must actively cancel or you will get charged again every month. And you cannot buy it from Deutsche Bahn because they require a European bank account. But many local Transit Authorities will sell it with a credit card account.

If browsing the DB page to plan/check for journeys, use „Mode of transport“ - „Local transport only“ to find only journeys on which the Deutschland Ticket will be valid.
They will work well within shorter distances like day trips, but going longer distances that way is going to be exhausting.

I very well understand this is a forum.
One would not be asking the questions if all facts required were clear
You have the choice of not replying to the questions.
Nevertheless, thank you for your response
