Just landed on this site where you can select a station and look at a map to see how platforms are laid out.
https://www.bahnhof.de/en/search
I will be doing a connection in Munich and found those really helpful.

Thanks, the website is already regularly recommended and linked in the Germany forum.
Important to mention is that users need to enter station names by their German names, e. g.
Hbf is short for German Hauptbahnhof (central station). A few cities have more stations with access to long-distance rail network (main stations). Berlin has five of these, Berlin Hbf is the centrally located main station.
btw: the Hamburger Bahnhof n Berlin is not a train station but an art museum.
To complete the information about German train stations I recommend the website https://www.einkaufsbahnhof.de/ which lists the shopping facilities and the opening times at a train station (in German language). Be informed that although shops are closed in Germany on Sundays (very few exemptions) the supermarkets at train station are often open on Sundays.
these are both excellent information - thanks to both
I looked at the train station of Passau Hbf, and see the elevators to the platforms are not indicated. They have been there for a few years now.
I am going to Passau once a year since 2011, and what is indicated is how it was before elevators, a ramp next to the stairs to roll luggage, bicycles, etc. up and down. So for people checking accessibility, maps may mot always be accurate/up to date.
Edit: the elevators are described on the station page, but not shown on the map.
I looked at the train station of Passau Hbf, and see the elevators to the platforms are not indicated.
They are shown on the map with same icons as shown in "Elevators" (named Lift there) but not on the track and site plan. Since the stairs are shown in both illustrations it is somehow clear where you can find the closely located elevators.
And if you find missing information or needs for improvement feel free to contact DB team:

Mark, you are right. I just looked at the track and site plan pdf and assumed the map would be the same!
