Germany, Switzerland and Austria Tour 6/27

Hi, we are really looking forward to the RS tour end of June. Any feedback on weather expectations this time of year for visiting the rhine valley, the Swiss alps, and Austria? Obviously trying to pack smartly and efficiently. A second question is are there recommendations for exciting options such as paragliding (never done before) or should I just stick to a safer option like hiking?

The weather can very. Even though you’re going to be there at the end of June is could still be cool. One year I was there in early July and it was cold a rainy. Check the weather right before you leave.
I was in the Swiss alps last August and did the tandem paragliding from Mürren over the Lauterbrunnen valley. It was fantastic! I highly recommend it. I booked through Airtime Paragliding, online before I left on the trip. They do have an office in Lauterbrunnen, If you want to check for last minute openings. enter link description here. Here’s a link to the site. Sorry I’m having issues inserting the link.

Vanessa R, thank you for your response! The link you sent dies come up, so we’ll look into it! Did you do the 30 min session on that paragliding? I think that will be enough for my nerves. I thought too that the weather will be on cool side.

doublemk,
I paid for the 30 minutes but my pilot asked if I wanted to go longer. I think I flew for about 40 minutes. I thought I would be nervous but I really wasn’t. It’s so quiet and peaceful. At the end of the flight, the pilot lets you steer the glider, which I thought was pretty cool. The hardest part was the hike up from the tram stop to the takeoff location.
