Germany Hotels for Family

We are looking for a family friendly hotel for two families. Most places that are budget friendly are away from the center of town, which I think is important to really experience the area. We have 3 nights, my son's family has 2 nights in mid-March. So bed arrangements for both rooms are tricky given the grandparents, and the children needing spaces. The only thing I've found so far that seems to fit (still a bit pricey for my DIL) is the Hotel Am Viktualienmarkt. We can get a quad room and the apartment and should be comfortable. My question is are there other good options? And if we do choose the Viktualienmarkt, how are the beds and softbeds, are they comfortable, hard or soft? Yes we, the Grandparents are picky...my husband is a very light sleeper, and if he doesn't sleep well the vacation experience won't be fun :-(.

A lot of people want the center-of-town experience, which is why those hotels can and do charge a premium. If they were budget friendly, they would already be sold out.

Pension Lindner is close to the same area and slightly less expensive, but they only seem to have 3-Bett rooms.

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning and end of a trip a couple of years ago:

On our first stay, my husband and I had the family suite which was quite large - family room, living room and kitchen. On our return stay we had a standard room.

The hotel is a 10 minute tram ride from the center of town, but is also walking distance to several attractions (palace, botanical garden, beer garden) that would be attractive to children and families.

The price was quite reasonable and service very helpful and friendly.
