Germany/Austria Trip

Hi,
My husband and 29yr old daughter are travelling this month...yikes...I know it's getting close.
We fly into Frankfurt August 28th ..visit relatives in Cologne til the 30th.
We have rented a car from 30th-Sept 2nd dropping off in Munich.
My dilemma....my husband has business in Munich 2 nights...then Berlin 2 nights.
We want to go to Prague then Austria and home on the 14th from Frankfurt.
It seems too far to join him in Berlin. Should we skip Prague and head straight to Austria and meet him there? Or meet up in Prague? Vienna to Frankfurt is expensive to get too also?
We are flexible...other than my husband needing to be in Munich and Berlin
I welcome any suggestions.... thanks!!

Sept 13 there is a direct ICE leaving Vienna at 14:52 for 49 euro pp if you buy Sparpreis tickets now online. Takes 6 hour 44 minutes.
If you wanted to skip Berlin (that is an expensive ticket), you could meet hubby in Prague, as it is an easy bus trip from Munich, and an easy train trip from Berlin. Prague to Vienna is an easy trip as well, lots of direct trains, 4 hour 45 minutes.

You can get rail schedules and buy tickets on the Bahn website.

I'd meet in Prague. It's a 4½ hr train trip from Berlin to Prague on the direct ECs. You can get advance purchase ticket on the Bahn website for as little as 39€. There is also a direct Bahn Intercity bus from Hackerbrücke station to Prague in about the same time for as low as 29€/person with advance purchase from the Bahn.

On the other hand, if his company is paying for his transportation, have him fly to Vienna and go there by train from Munich. You can get advance purchase fares from the Bahn.

Hi,

Vienna to Frankfurt can be done by night. That route has the night train option on an EC train. I've done that route in the other direction.
