Germany 7days 6 nights

Sounds like Munich should be your destination if Koenigssee and Neuschwanstein are things you want to see. Christmas markets begin end of November in big cities, but just about every town has one, even if it is just on weekends. Cities like Munich and Nuremberg will have several around town, some of them huge.

For the boats on Königssee, I only see a summer schedule, from April 21 to October 14. So, it appears that the boats don't run in the winter. But you can always go down to Schönau and look at the lake.

Neuschanstein is open year round, except Christmas eve day and Christmas day, New Years eve day and New Years day.

Definitely Munich, we spent 2 weeks in Munich and took many day trips from there. We visited Garmich, Salzburg and Neuschwanstein Castle.

Now I slowly start my plan after the advice given.
Dec I will fly in to Munich.
I plan to visit konigssee( if no boat in the winter, I will go to a Schonau to catch the scenery.
I will visit Neuschwanstein Castle.

Can someone recommend where to stay in Munich upon arrival? Will not want to pay too much for the hotel stay. Safe and convenient area.

The English language schedule for the boats indicates that the boats might run in the winter if there is no ice on the lake, but there doesn't appear to be a set schedule.

Try this: Motel One Munich-Sendlinger Tor, Herzog-Wilhelm-Straße 28, 80331 Munich. We stayed there in 2015, no problems. Sort of like a Holiday Inn Express.
